The tour starts off from Keszthely. We departed from the Bordás Vince promenade, near the railway station. The promenade itself is part of the Balaton bike road. Starting westward on the bike road, we ride to Balatonszentgyörgy, passing through Fenékpuszta as well.

Places of interest at Fenékpuszta: the roman ruins (Valcum), and the bird ringing establishment. This latter is operated not by the National Park, but by the Hungarian Ornithology and Nature Reserve Society (they basically receive no governmental funding for this activity). AtFenékpuszta we can visit the 400 year old customs house, which functions as a pub nowadays.

When in Balatonszentgyörgy, we turn in the direction of Vörs. At Vörs there is a tiny fireman museum and a nature house, but also several bird watching places along the minor road. If on a one day tour, it is worth to pay a visit to Csillagvár as well, where the museum of waxworks, animal petting as well as a period in offer an unforgettable experience to the visitors.

We are at the end of the tour at the boundaries of Vörs, when reaching the Papkerti look-out tower, which offers the possibility of observing the swamps of the lake little Balaton.

We turn back here and head toward Keszthely on the same route. We recommend visiting some of the sights on the way back, thus taking small stops in order to better enjoy the second part of the tour as well.
